What Is CARB?California Air Resources Board (CARB), also known as Air Resources Board (ARB).
A department of the California Environmental Protection Agency established with the purpose of maintaining and improving air quality along with researching the causes and solutions of air pollution.
CARB compliancies are strict and usually considered to be the standard across the United States and areas in Canada.
What is CARBII (CARB Phase 2)There are two phases for CARB Compliancy. These regulations help to lower formaldehyde emissions that come from wood products (i.e. composite wood, hardwood flooring, particleboard, medium density fiberboard (MDF) and many more).
Phase 1)In 2009 formaldehyde emissions were capped at being 0.08 parts per million (ppm).
Phase 2)In 2010 formaldehyde emissions were capped at being 0.05 ppm. Making the acceptable levels of emissions much lower than in the previous year.
Why is CARBII Important?Like all living things, we need to breathe. Why would we want to be breathing in air that is unhealthy, toxic or dangerous to ourselves or our friends, family and loved ones? CARB and CARBII help to regulate the air we breathe be ensuring that all components brought into our homes and workplaces are healthy and help to reduce the amount of carcinogens in the air that can harm us.
